Zee Fincham

Born in the late 1950's East End of London, surrounded by the vast array of multicultural ethnicity of the late British Empire on every street corner, among the rubble, debris and derelict bomb sites still waiting to be developed after WWII (perhaps this is where she must have consumed the gravel in her voice!), music of every style and genre was a staple in Zee's early life. Vagrant and villainous neighbours only adding to the musical melting pot! Singing along with the music of war time Britain (her mother's version of lullabies!) together with the music of the '50's, '60's, '70's and onwards blasting from her friends' older brothers and sisters' record players and cassettes (!) Zee's musical influences couldn't have been more subliminally varied if she'd tried. Her only musical opportunities and outlets were singing in Baptist Church gospel choirs, the choirs of C of E churches, Methodist Churches, Mormon Churches and Sunday school choruses. Relationship influences further introduced and immersed her in old school blues and jazz music. Over time she has honed her vocal skills to the voice you hear today, using all the varied music influences in her life as her platforms to work and develop from. The result of her efforts can be heard in her voice; the varied tones and musical interpretations: smooth, mellow, melodic, romantic, soothing, raucous, rock, her range and ability can be heard in whatever way she chooses to use it. She currently fronts Boogaloo Jones, a New Orleans' influenced band playing all original numbers.
